The Importance of communication skills for engineers

What do engineers do? They apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems, and engineers often need to work in teams to come up with these solutions. One of the most important factor in achieving good teamwork is communication skill. 

  Good communication skills allow engineers to communicate with one another effectively, potential good ideas can then be voiced out instead of being kept individually by the engineers and disregarded. Therefore, more ideas will be generated, and good communication skills allow the most suitable idea for the problem that they aim to tackle to be selected can carried out smoothly.
  Therefore, it is very important to teach engineering studets communication skills as it will help them when they become real engineers and enter the work force in the future.
